The Spiritual Formation Team of Discipleship Ministries of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church and the Upper Room welcomes you to our website featuring the Florida Five-Day Academy For Spiritual Formation.

Our first Five-Day Academy was held in March 2001. This year we just hosted our twelfth annual academy on March 11 - 15, 2012, at the Life Enrichment Center in Fruitland Park, Florida. This Academy's featured presenters were Rev. Dr. Roberta Bondi and Rev. Dr. William Thiele.  The weather was perfect and all had a great time with Roberta and William.
 

Now for even more news!  We have the dates for next year's academy in 2013:  March 10-15, 2013.  Mark your calendars now! The faculty for 2013 will be Rev. Dr. Norval I. Brown and Dr. Joe Howell.  Dr. Norval Brown is from the Chicago area and has been involved with The Academy for Spiritual Formation as a participant, faculty presenter and leadership team member.  His experience as a pastor is extensive and varied.  Dr. Howell is a clinical psychologist in Anniston, AL.  He is a teacher of the Enneagram for 28 years and was mentored by Henri Nouwen at Yale.  Dr. Howell is a member of the American Psychological Asociation and the International Society for the Study of Dreams.
