Rev. Grace Imathiu

Rev. Grace Imathiu is the daughter of Florence and Lawi Imathiu. Grace was born in Kenya and raised in the town of Meru and the city of Nairobi. She is an ordained elder in the Methodist Church in Kenya. She has served in congregations in Nkubu and Lavington, Kenya; Richland, Washington; Delaware, Ohio; Nashville, Tennessee , Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she served two years as Senior Pastor of the 1,300 member congregation of First United Methodist Church in Green Bay.  She is currently Pastor of Brown Deer United Methodist Church in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, a small diverse congregation in the outskirts of Milwaukee.

As a preacher and Bible study teacher, Grace is in constant demand all around the world and led three Bible studies at The World Methodist Conference in Brighton, England (2001). She is a favorite at United Methodist Annual Conference as a Bible Study teacher and is a featured preacher at the annual Festival of Homiletics where over 700 clergy from a various denominations gather for a week long of the nation's best preachers.  She has preached at the International Christian Youth Conferences in Germany, USA, Ireland and Brazil as well at the National Christian Youth Conference in Victoria and Sydney, Australia.  She has ministered in Kenya, Togo, Germany, Denmark, Australia, Malaysia, Brazil, England, Ireland and all throughout the United States.

Rev. Imathiu was educated in Kenya, USA, Israel, and Cambridge University, England. She is founding member of the Kenya Methodist University in Meru, Kenya. She has completed all course work towards a PhD in New Testament at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee and is author of "Matthew's Message" and "Words of Fire, Spirit of Grace" (Spring, 2003) a collection of sermons. She is married to David Hay Jones. They are the proud parents of seven year old Erik Mugambi, a first degree black belt in Tae Kwo Do.
